John Kean Obituary check_circle

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John (Jack) Michael Kean at the age of 88 years. He passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 surrounded by his family. Jack was born on November 28, 1926 in Campbellton, New Brunswick. He moved to Timmins in the Mid 1940’s.

Jack leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years, Marcella (Hedican). He was predeceased by his son Laurence (2001). Devoted father of Allan (Janet), Tom (Joy) of Winnipeg, Mark (Marilyn Wood), Ann (Ron) McLeod of Calgary and David. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Allison, Erin (Bodie Conley), Michael, Stacia, Janice (Wayne) Vickers, Johnathan, Scott (Beth), Kathryn and Emma. Great grandfather of Abby and Mason.

Jack was also predeceased by his brother Charlie (Mimi), sister Gladys (Doug) McLellen and Doris. He also leaves behind his sister Rita and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Along with his brother Charlie, Jack owned and operated Dalton Bus Lines for 60 years. Jack will be remembered for his love of life, devotion to family and wonderful sense of adventure. He was an accomplished pilot and avid outdoorsman.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from the Miron-Wilson Funeral Chapel (Fr. Pat Lafleur officiating). Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Miron-Wilson Reception Lounge. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:45 am on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE150 Balsam St. S. Timmins.
