Alice (nee Wartman) Paul Obituary
PAUL, Alice Louise (nee Wartman) – Passed away peacefully on March 21, 2015. Beloved wife of Dr. Edward Paul (deceased), mother to Edward (Mary), Mary Alice, and Neil (Christine), cherished grandmother to Jennifer, Matthew (Hiroko), Natalie (Jered), Benjamin (Ashley), Andrew, and David, and great-grandmother to Emma, Janey, Aiko, Jack, and James. Survived by sister Caroline Campbell (Kip) and sister-in-law Norma Wartman. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Loving daughter of dearly departed parents, Ward and Charlotte Wartman, and predeceased by siblings Jean Moore (Harry), Alvin (Phyllis), Hester Caldwell (Harry), Robert Wartman, and Nancy Warren. Alice will be fondly remembered by family and friends for her warm and gracious hospitality at the family’s Centre Street home, and her dedication to VON, St. Mary Magdalene Church, particularly the Altar Guild, to the Allan MacPherson House, and to the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Auxiliary. Alice graduated as a registered nurse at Kingston General Hospital and supported her husband’s family practice for many years. Alice pursued many interests: curling at the Napanee Curling Club, downhill skiing, bridge, and the arts; however sunset at West Winds on the Hayward Long Reach was her place of great contentment. The family will receive friends at the Wartman Funeral Home “Napanee Chapel” on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Saturday, March 28 at 11 a.m.. Interment Riverside Cemetery. Donations to St. Mary Magdalene Church and the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation will be remembered with appreciation by the family.
