Norman MAUER Obituary
Norman Mauer, of Hanover, passed away at The Village Senior’s Community, Hanover on Saturday, March 14, 2015. He was 94.
Norman was born July 12, 1920 in Brant Township to the late David and Freada (Lorenz) Mauer. Norman and his wife Vi owned and operated Mauer’s Garage in Ayton for several years. He was a member of the Ayton Rotary Club and a long standing member of Normanby Fire Department retiring as the Deputy Fire Chief when he and his wife retired to Hanover.
Survived by loving wife Viola (Vi) (Fisher), sons Glenn (Kathy) Mauer of Caledon and Don Mauer of Hanover, dear grandpa to David Mauer, Laura Mauer (fiance Aaron Muir) both of Caledon, Melissa (Mike) Pepe of Stoney Creek and Michelle (Mike) Scarpino of Oakville, great granddaughter Ava Scarpino. He will be remembered by his brother-in-law Ivan Fisher and his sister-in-law Betty Weltz. Predeceased by his parents, sisters Laura Lipskie and Elsie Ballagh and his brother Gordon Mauer.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:00 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ayton. Pastor Dale Finch officiating. Spring Interment in Union Cemetery, Ayton.
