Arthur Rempel was born in Friedensfeldt (Sagradowka) Ukraine on March 27th, 1928. Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather went peacefully to be with his Lord and Saviour on September 15, 2017.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Mary and their three daughters: Rosemary Harms (Herb), Laura Doering (Dale) and Monica McKinlay (Don). Grandchildren: Michelle (Keith), Philip (Rosalyn), Alex (Amanda), Eva, Nikolas, Kyla, Evan and Luke. Great grandchildren: Kingston, Harper, Naiyah, Carter and Isaac.
Arthur immigrated to Canada in June of 1948 and settled in Vancouver where he began working in a furniture factory. He then followed a path that led him to Calgary in 1950 and began his career in the construction industry. This is where he met the love of his life Mary and they settled down to raise a family. After a few years in construction, he decided to start his own company (Art Rempel Homes) and along with some fellow builders started Carma Developers. He built a legacy of over 400 custom built, well-crafted homes in the Calgary and surrounding area. In their later years, together with his wife Mary, they enjoyed woodworking and creating heirloom furniture for their family together.
Along with being a successful and creative home builder, Arthur’s life was full of love and family. He knew each of his grandchildren uniquely and every one of them had a special place in his heart. Throughout the years, he felt deep gratitude for the time spent with his family and cherished every moment.
Arthur taught his family that life is precious and to appreciate the beauty in all things. He felt fortunate to be involved with his family and was generous with his time always providing encouragement, wisdom, support and love.
