It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Katarzyna Lewandowska, who left us peacefully on her 83rd birthday, June 13th, surrounded by the love of her family at Juravinski Hospital.

Katarzyna was born in Poland and lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and resilience. She began her career as a nurse, where she provided care and comfort to countless patients. Later, she transitioned into a role in insurance, demonstrating her versatility and strong work ethic.

In 1976, Katarzyna made the courageous decision to emigrate to Canada, seeking new opportunities and a brighter future. She embraced her new homeland wholeheartedly, becoming a Canadian citizen in 1980. Two years later, in 1982, she welcomed her beloved son, Johann, into the world. Johann was her pride and joy, and she dedicated herself to providing him with a loving and nurturing home.

Katarzyna had a deep love for nature, particularly flowers and gardening. Her garden was a vibrant testament to her passion, always in full bloom and meticulously cared for. She found great joy and tranquility in tending to her plants, a hobby that brought her immense satisfaction throughout her life.

Katarzyna Last of her Brothers and Sisters; Aniela Starr, Helena Badura, Stanislaw Gajewczyk, Antek Gajewczyk. She is survived by her son Johann, his wife Elyse, and her cherished grandson Marcus. She also leaves behind her dear nephew Daniel, his wife Joanne, and their daughter Olivia, who brought her much happiness.

Katarzyna’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will continue to inspire her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 947 Rymal Road East, on Sunday, June 23rd from 1-4 pm & 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, June 24th at 1pm. Cremation to follow. Online condolences can be made to www.baygardens.ca
