LUCY CONLEY
ASHEVILLE – Lucy Ann Dorsey Conley, of 200 Tunnel Rd., Apt. 542, passed away peacefully at her residence. She was born in Sylva, N.C. on August 15, 1928 to the late Wilse and Gladys Enloe Dorsey. Lucy married Richard Conley and moved to Lexington, Ky. and later moved to Chicago, Ill. She received training and earned certification as a nurse’s aide. Upon retirement, Lucy returned to Asheville and was an active member of New Vision Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Conley; sons, Thomas and Ronald; granddaughter, June; brothers, William, Paul and Dewey Dorsey; sisters, Mildred and Barbara.
Surviving family include, sisters, Tretha Butler of Chicago and Jonell Baird of Decatur, Ga.; brothers, Preston Dorsey (Greta) and Charles Dorsey (Sarah) of Asheville; daughters-in-law, Ida Conley and Carol; grandchildren, Katrina, Ronda, Thomas and Richard; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; caregiver, Gayle Wheeler; other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Bethel SDA Church with the Rev. Rod Whiteside officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 600 Merrimon Ave., Apt. 16 B.
